The 2021 Modifieds of Mayhem Tour came to an end at the Historic Five Flags Speedway on the weekend of the 54th Annual Snowball Derby. 40 cars rolled into Pensacola, Florida for the Modifieds of Mayhem Snowball Derby.
As cars rolled through tech inspection and to the grid for the one and only Modifieds of Mayhem practice of the day. Practice got underway and it was a familiar face at the top of the leaderboards, “Mr. Montgomery” Augie Grill #112 found himself at the top. Jeff Letson #131, the Alabama native followed closely behind in second. Midwest Modifieds Tour racer Kyle Purvis #13 from Marion, Ohio rounded out the top 3. Cody Stickler #99 from Pinellas Park, Florida and Josh Ware #7w out of Barbeau, Ohio rounded out the top five.

Hometown Pensacola native Derrick Griffin #95 was 6th, followed by LB Skaggs #71s, Donnie Hamrac #8, Doug Moff #46, and Parker Pugh #7p rounded out the top 10.

As we rolled into the afternoon qualifying efforts began. 39 drivers would qualify and only 28 drivers would be locked into the main feature based on qualifying time.
A late driver change with Doug Moff #46 put the great short track racer who has won in anything and everythinghe has been in, Stephen Nasse into the #46 seat. Stephen nasse jumped into the modified and put up the fastest time in qualifying with no practice.

Cody Stickler #99, the defending winner at Five Flags Speedway earlier in the season put his #99 Modified behind Nasse #46. Augie Grill #112 won 2 of the 3 races at Montgomery Motor Speedway this season and came into the weekend top five in Modifieds of Mayhem points qualified third. Derrick Griffin #95, the Pensacola native put his hot rod on the second row in qualifying. Jeff letson #131 had a top five finish at Five Flags Speedway earlier in the season rounded out the top-five in qualifying.

The 9 drivers that failed to make the race on time in qualifying went to the last chance race. Larry Hughes #88 received a provisional for being top 10 in the Modifieds of Mayhem point standings. The last chance race would take the top 3 finishers and they would advance into the Modifieds of Mayhem main feature.

The shootout for the last chance race ended quick as it ran all the way through with no cautions. Max mcdonald #51, Clayton Green #54, and Okie Mason #10 all finished in the top 3 and moved on to the main feature of the night.

As the night moved on, the main feature of the night, the Modifieds of Mayhem closed in. it would be Donny Duchesne #73 and Augie Grill #112 starting on the front row after the redraw of the top 8. Cody Stickler #99 and Stephen Nasse #46 would line up behind the on row #2 and row #3 would consist of Jeff Letson #131 and Derrick Griffin #95.

32 cars would officially roll off at Five Flags Speedway for the Modifieds of Mayhem finale and the main feature for night two of the 54th Annual Snowball Derby.
As the green flag waved, it was Augie Grill #112 jumping out to claim the early lead. Augie Grill #112 is no stranger to Five Flags Speedway and the Snowball Derby, having been very impressive in his Late Model career in the Snowball Derby. Augie took the early lead before a caution on lap 3 brought out the yellow. the caution would put an early end to the night for Jordan Key #0. Augie Grill #112 won the restart as we went back green, fighting off Stephen Nasse #46 with a strong car. Logan Boyett’s #5 night would also come to an early end after problems with his car.

On lap 14 the second caution of the night came out as Johnny Walker in the #39 car for the night went around. Johnny Walker usually runs the #72, but after problems with his car, he jumped into the #39 car to run for the Modifieds of Mayhem Championship. after the early wreck his night and Championship hopes would end early.

Augie Grill #112 won the first 2 restarts of the race, but he was not able to win restart #3. Former Southern Super Series Champion Stephen Nasse #46 was able to find a groove on the outside lane and power his way into the lead. After just 2 laps of holding the lead, caution #3 on the night come out. Multiple cars were included in the accident including points leader Bill Burba #26 who had a Championship on the line. As the restart on lap 16 got back underway, it was Stephen Nasse #46 winning the restart again, this time from the bottom lane. The 4th caution of the night came out when issues with the #21 of Kaden Honeycutt made him come to a stop and bring out the caution flag. This would put an early end to Kaden Honeycutt’s night. Just 3 laps later it was Logan Bearden #66 having issues with his car and bringing out caution #5. Stephen Nasse #46 won the restart on lap 33 and continued to bring fast speed and lead laps. On lap 58 another caution come out. Much like the last few restarts, Stephen Nasse #46 chose the bottom lane and paced the field to green. This time though, it was Cody Stickler #99 beating him on the restart from the outside lane. Cody Stickler #99, who has been strong at Five Flags Speedway all season stole the lead away from short track Superstar Stephen nasse. cody stickler #99 would not look back as he would hold off Stephen Nasse #46 and Augie Grill #112 to claim the Snowball Derby Modifieds win and his second win of the season in the Modifieds of Mayhem Tour. Derrick Griffin #95 ran inside the top 3 all night and finished in the third position. LJ Grimm #54 and LB SKaggs #71 found their ways into the top 5 for great finishes in the Modifieds of Mayhem Tour finale at the 54th Annual Snowball Derby.

What a night it was for Cody Stickler and his entire #99 team. A dream come true. Victory lane at the snowball derby in front of a packed-out crowd. It truly doesn’t get better than that. Along with winning the 54th Annual Snowball Derby Modified Feature, Cody Stickler would also tie for fifth in the Modifieds of Mayhem Tour Point Standings with Larry Hughes #88 with 188 points.
