VIVA NashVegas 50

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – It was a hot Friday afternoon in Tennessee when nearly 20 fast modifieds unloaded in the pits at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway for practice before Saturday night’s 50-lap feature race. A few notable names made the entry list this week: #46 Cody Stickler, #7 Parker Pugh, #55 Chuck Barnes Jr, #68 Matt Martin, #41 Blaine Akin, and #6 Craig Bell, all back for the first time in 2025. The Nashvegas 50 is always one of our drivers’ favorite events of the year, and several of them star this specific race on their calendar even if they aren’t racing the whole season.

During Saturday afternoon’s practice, #46 Cody Stickler was fastest, followed by #55 Chuck Barnes Jr. and #81 Jeremy Williams. Qualifying saw some of the same names: #46 Cody Stickler on the pole, with #81 Jeremy Williams and #33 Ryan Price rounding out the podium. #55 Chuck Barnes Jr., #7 Parker Pugh, #57 Tim Moore, #68 Matt Martin, and #62 Buddy Anderson make up the top 8 for the redraw. After the redraw, #33 Ryan Price and #55 Chuck Barnes Jr. would lead the field from the front row, followed by #68 Martin and #57 Moore on the 2nd row.

Once the green flag dropped, it was the #55 Chuck Barnes Jr. show for the first 10 laps before the 3-time Nashvegas 50 winner #46 machine of Cody Stickler took the lead. On lap 14, Bowling Green, Kentucky’s #41 Blaine Akin brought out the first caution for a mechanical failure, ending his night early. #46 Cody Stickler and #55 Chuck Barnes Jr. restart from the front row.

On lap 38, #6 Craig Bell faced an issue that leaked fluid on the race track, bringing out the second caution of the night, followed by contact between the #18 of Kevin Peel and #31 of Brad Stell on the restart, which put Stell in the wall and brought out the 3rd caution of the race and ended both of their nights.

Once again, it was #46 and #55 restarting on the front row, and before they could make it back around to the line, a battle for 4th with #33 Ryan Price sent the #48 of Hunter Evans spinning in turn 4, he rejoined from the tailend and the field took the green for the final time that night with 12 to go. After defending 2nd place all night, Barnes Jr. faced a tire rub and got shuffled back to 4th by #81 Williams and #33 Price with 5 laps to go.

After leading the last 40 laps, #46 Cody Stickler parked in Nashvegas Victory Lane for the 4th consecutive year. After battling through the field for all 50 laps, the feature podium was filled with the same names as the qualifying podium. The hard charger of the race was #51 Tre Huff, coming from 14th to finish 5th, gaining 8 spots during the 50-lap feature.

“It’s always fun coming to Nashville. I like racing here, so it’s fun to be back. I can’t thank these guys enough, and I’m excited to take the guitar home,” Stickler said.
